Kyle is currently the Director of Instructional Technology with the Lee’s Summit School District, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and has worked with K-12 teachers to provide technology leadership and instructional technology professional development and support since 2004. Kyle’s prior experience was teaching in the elementary classroom, a district instructional technology coach, and a district Director of Technology. Kyle holds a Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Educational Technology. Kyle champions real, relevant learning using a multitude of technologies and believes that creating meaningful, active learning experiences for adults is the best way to give the same kind of learning experiences to our students.

Kyle has been a keynote speaker, featured speaker and workshop presenter at education conferences such as, ISTE, TCEA, FETC, MACUL, ASCD, The Midwest Google Summit, and also has worked with school districts in virtual and face to face settings.

Kyle is also the founder of the first edcamp in the Midwest, #edcampKC.

As part of his ongoing commitment to professional growth, Kyle is a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Google for Education Certified Trainer.  In January 2013, Kyle was named as one of Education Week’s 2013 “Leaders to Learn From” and also recognized nationally the same year as an ASCD “Emerging Leader”.

Kyle started 2020 by achieving his CETL (Certified Education Technology Leader) certification from COSN.

Kyle has a strong passion for sharing with teachers, administrators, students, and parents about the impact that educational technology can have on learning for all ages.
